Graduation!

grad

I helped in the production of a documentary for a competition, produced and directed another for my doc class and I'm editing my MAD doc - produced, directed and starring me. I'll post updates in this site or at the Facebook site.

About the picture ...

This is proof that my brain isn't dead. It took me 20 years from my first classes at Orange Coast College to this graduation from California State University, Long Beach. I loved every minute of it.

Graduation
After the ceremony, we had a party to celebrate my freedom! New and old friends came over, and I was proud to show off my docs.

Catalina
We went to Catalina for the labor day weekend. Steve got us a tour and we went all over the island with a private guide who had the keys to all the gates. We went everywhere! Catalina has quite a history, it was interesting to hear it.

Nicholas to go to UCSD!
Nicholas was accepted by UCSD and start classes there in September. We're so proud of him, he worked hard to get there. Now he can party like a college student...

Bob's 80th birthday
Steve got the Patron Train to take us to San Diego. It was a surprise for Bob, some of his long time friends joined us along the way. I filmed the whole thing, will post it when I'm done editing it. That was fun!

Doc Challenge
It was a challenge! To shoot and edit a documentary in 5 days. The crew was great, it was a pleasure to work with people who have vision and creativity. And somewhat intimidading! I was pleased with the result. Because we're trying to take it to festivals, I can't post it yet. I'll let you know!

Chicago
We went to Chicago for Paul Wood's (Steve's cousin) surprise 55th birthday party. A great oportunity to see Tatiana too. The party was held in the hangar where he keeps war planes for his war bird foundation. James Taylor sang, leaving Tatiana, Steve and I speechless.

MAD
The last time I'm involved in MAD. So I had to go out with a bang! I dressed up as Carmen Miranda (they were studying the music of Brasil, including Carmen Miranda) and heard a gasp when I entered the meeting place where all students and coaches were at. Great fun.

Adriana's pet causes

I've decided that hey, I might as well put some useful links in my pages. I found these sites and thought that they are very good ideas, so I'm spreading the word.
The latest is KIVA.ORG, where a loan of $25 can make a difference. You can find out more about Kiva at this link as well. We have helped lots of people, and keep the money rolling over.
To combat world hunger, one household at a time, I like the Heifer Fund. It's one of my favorite Christmas presents! Thank you Bob and Dolly for my graduation present!
